Belfast Model School for Girls were awarded the prestigious ICT Mark Award in October 2011.

The award recognises the school’s success in developing the strategic use of ICT in both administration and across the curriculum.

As part of a glowing report from the assessor, areas of strength/outstanding practice within the context of the self-review framework were noted as follows:

  • The whole school ethos towards embedding ICT in classroom teaching, assessment and administration.
  • The synergy between staff members and the ability to sustain on-going professional development with internally delivered ICT training days.
  • The national representation at conferences and competitions in which Whole School Use of ICT is being celebrated.
  • The role of the school in the local and wider educational community as evidenced through publicity materials and participation in competitions.
