STEM Boat Project

A class of Year 9 pupils have just completed a joint Science and Technology project looking at how and why ships float (and sometimes sink!).

This month long investigation included experiments in up thrust and density, culminating in a competition to design and make their own boat to see who’s travelled the fastest over a three metre expanse of water.

The class were also taken to the Titanic Belfast exhibition to take part in a workshop there and to learn more about probably the most famous ship in recent history.
