The Belfast Model School for Girls is joining in on the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education week Monday 4th – Friday 8th December 2017. More than 100 million students worldwide have already tried an Hour of Code.
We live in a world surrounded by technology and we know that whatever field you choose to go into as adults, your ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. However, only a tiny fraction of us are learning computer science, and we want to change that.
Our Hour of Code is a statement that Belfast Model School for Girls is ready to teach these foundational 21st century skills. To continue bringing programming activities to our school, we want to make our Hour of Code event huge! Volunteer for workshops, share the events amongst your friends, and get involved. This is a chance to change your future!
On Friday 8th December from 8am – 8.45am the ICT Department, in partnership with Modern Foreign Languages, is offering GMS pupils the chance to code their own game and enjoy a beautiful breakfast of continental pastries such as croissants and chocolat chaud.
