At the Belfast Model School for Girls we have a large Post-16 comprising both Year 13 and Year 14 students.
A range of academic AS/A-Level and vocational courses are offered. Admission to Post-16 depends on GCSE results, subject specific entry criteria, attendance, and adherence to the Model Way which will be discussed at an interview once GCSE results have been received.
A range of AS/A-Levels may be offered within an academic year. The subjects offered are Art and Design, Computer Science, English Literature, Environmental Technology, Geography, Health and Social Care, History, Mathematics, Performing Arts, Religious Studies, Single Award and Double Award Life and Health Sciences, Sociology and Spanish. There may be an opportunity for students to select another subject offered at one of our Area Learning Community partner schools.
In Post-16 we also offer a range of vocational courses including BTEC Extended Certificate in Business, BTEC Extended Certificate Travel and Tourism, BTEC Diploma in Travel and Tourism and BTEC Extended Certificate in Childrens’ Play, Learning and Development. CTECs in ICT and Sports Studies are also offered.
