Voting Day at the Belfast Model School for Girls
Today, all of the students in our school were given the opportunity to take part in a secret ballot, just as they would if voting in civil elections.
The students were supplied with a voting paper, directed to a voting booth and after their selection had been made, allowed to place their vote in a sealed ballot box.
The turnout was high, over 80%+ cast a vote. A figure that would be the envy of most government elections. After the voting was closed the ballot was counted and cross checked by three senior prefects and the membership of the Whole School Council was duly elected.
