Year 8 are studying the Norman Conquest as part of their History curriculum. On Monday we were delighted to have Living History characters in school dressed in Norman costume with authentic weapons and artefacts. They really helped to bring the past to life for our students. They were entertained by William Fitzsavage who fought with William of Normandy at the Battle of Hastings. They also had the opportunity to dress up in armour, handle weapons and build a shield wall. The programme concluded with a vote to decide who should be the next king of England. The pupils really enjoyed the experience and were keen participants in the activities
