Today, Year 10 French enjoyed a cultural lesson for the 80th Anniversary of VE Day. They watched a video on how “La Fête de la Victoire” is celebrated in France and they also completed a comprehension task based on the information from the video.
The 8th of May is a public holiday of commemoration in France. Each year, the President of France travels up the Champs-Élysées accompanied by soldiers and places a wreath of flowers on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The students really enjoyed having the opportunity to learn more about Victory Day on such an important anniversary.
