Years at GMS:
2009-2016

A-Level Results: ICT – A* | History – B | Geography – B

University & course name: Queen’s University Belfast – BA Joint Honours Archaeology and History

Starting date: Monday 26th September 2016

Length of course: 3 years

Why did you choose to do this course?  I’ve always had an interest in history so I was just going to do single honours history at university until I read about archaeology on the QUB website and thought it sounded interesting, so I decided to do joint honours so I can continue doing history along with archaeology.

How did you feel about starting university?  I felt very anxious and nervous about starting university, especially cause you’re told how different it is to secondary school but once I had started and talked to people in my modules and classes I felt more relaxed. University is completely different from school but it’s a good different.

Favourite memory at GMS:  My favourite memory from GMS would probably be from Trash Hits 2014 when the male teachers/teaching staff did the Mean Girls dance, I absolutely loved that.  Being awarded head girl is probably up there somewhere too!

What do you miss about GMS:  I miss the school lasagna on Thursdays, I miss relaxing in the common room during free periods, I miss all my friends and of course I miss being Head Girl.

Teacher(s) that most influenced you:  I would have to say Mrs Chisim (Geography) and Mrs Boyd (ICT) influenced me the most during my time at GMS. Having had both teachers since the start of my GCSE’s they have always pushed me to get the best grades that I can achieve and always believed in my potential. Plus, they’re the most chill teachers in school so you can always have a chat with them if you’re feeling stressed or worried.

Everyone at the Belfast Model School for Girls would like to wish Rebeka the very best in her studies and for the future!
