Public examinations take place throughout the school year. The main period of written papers occurs during May and June. Modular examinations are normally held in November, January, February and March.

The school enters candidates with the following boards: CCEA, AQA, WJEC, OCR, Pearson/Edexcel, Prince’s Trust, NCFE CACHE and OCNNI.  Candidates may be entered for Entry Level, Occupational Studies, GCSE, GCE AS/A2 Level, BTEC Level 2/Level 3, Cambridge Technicals Level 3, Cambridge Nationals Level 2 and CACHE Level 2 qualifications and examinations.

The times and dates for public examinations are set by the exam board and cannot be changed by the school. Parents should note that family holidays arranged before the end of June may coincide with scheduled public exams for Years 11, 12, 13 and 14. Pupils who miss these exams will receive a U grade (fail). Re-sits for missed exams are charged to the parents.

Examination Results

Dates of examination results will be posted on the School Calendar on the website.

Awarding organisations publish Examination Timetables on their websites.  It should also be noted that there are contingency sessions within the Summer 2024 exam timetable – the afternoon of 6th June and 13th June 2024 and the morning and afternoon of 26th June 2024. Make sure you are available on all three dates even if you do not have an exam.
