On Thursday 2nd March the Belfast Model School for Girls celebrated World Book Day 2017.  Our Year 8 students were encouraged to dress up as their favourite fictional characters for the day and they fully embraced the idea! To add to the celebrations the Year 8 spent the morning in our dance studio listening to the brilliant Miss Fryer aka Rapunzel (and the castle!) read an array of stories and poems, in a way which only Miss Fryer could!  World Book Day 2017 was another very successful GMS event – well done to everyone who took part.
To mark their 20th anniversary we have also been running a ‘Murder in the Model’ competition for our Year 8 students all week in our LRI Centre!
Congratulations to the following Year 8 students, who were awarded prizes for their brilliant costumes:
  • Faith Young – Olivia
  • Nikola Fait – Bellatrix Lestrange
  • Angel Robinson – Katniss Everdeen
  • Rebecca Otley – Miss Trunchbull
  • Casey Newcombe – Tweedledum
  • Rebekah Crozier – Cruella De Vil
  • Paige Craig – Creeper (from Minecraft)
