The Education Authority is consulting with the Board of Governors, Staff and Parents of Belfast Model School for Girls on the following proposal:


“Belfast Model School for Girls will increase its admissions number from 160 to 200, with an annual phased increase in the enrolment number from 950 to 1250, with effect from 1 September 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter.”

Young Enterprise – ‘Your School, Your Business’

On Monday 11th September our new Year 8 students took part in Young Enterprise’s ‘Your School, Your Business’ event. This business based event helps students develop skills and positive attitudes as they make their transition from Primary 7 to Year 8.

Students also looked at:

  • Who are you – interests and goal setting
  • Get to know other people in their year group
  • Enterprise skills and qualities
  • The school as a business and who is who in the school?
  • Problem solving

Our new Year 8 students then looked at the types of jobs available within schools and had the opportunity to listen to Girls’ Model classroom assistant, Kori Dickerson, about his role as the school and his time at university.
