On Wednesday 6th March we had the privilege of being invited guests of Version 1 to a Women in Tech event at the Titanic building. Demi Sinclair, Jazmin Taggart, Natalie Brown and Jade Smyth represented the school and were treated to a day of inspiring speeches and empowering messages. We heard about how Cyber security is a huge industry and how the security of all our data is at risk even when we don’t know about it. We heard from Maxine Benson MBE who talked about the importance of having a Growth Mindset in the industry and about being your best self.
The Keynote speaker was Dr Anita Sands who talked about how important it was for girls to have the best opportunities to study and be whatever they want including being in the Tech industry.
The whole event was held in the iconic Titanic building and our students were great ambassadors for the school and came away from the event enthused and ready to be the very best version of themselves!
