This January our Year 11 Business Studies students have taken part in the ‘Pitch Perfect’ programme with Ulster University, Jordanstown and Barclays Eagle Lab. The students had previously visited the Business Department at UUJ on Thursday 9th January; here they got to meet and work alongside Business Studies lecturers on developing a new business idea. The students then developed their ideas in class and put presentations together to present to entrepreneurs at The Barclays Eagle Lab at The Ormeau Baths on Thursday 30th January. The entrepreneurs were blown away by our pupils, as they were so confident in delivering their pitches and showed a real passion for their ideas.
Nikki-Jo Campbell –Cutler, Tanisha Mawhinney and Brooke Venus-Cochrane were awarded 1st place and won a Google Mini each.
Alyah McCullough, Megan Marshall and Kaci McConnell came in 2nd place and won a £25 Amazon voucher each.
All the rest of the pupils received a ‘You are Awesome Journal’ by Matthew Syed for taking part.

Really impressed by the pitches from @GirlsModel students this morning. Interesting to see where their passions + interests lie in the kind of business concepts they pitched. Pitching on that stage still makes me nervous now let alone at 14. Well done to all 👏🏻 https://t.co/i9BTzgxm4x
