On Monday 18th October, as part of Oracy October week, Year 12 took part in a discussion about their Drama text. They are currently reading and analysing Blood Brothers by Willy Russell. In preparation for their English Literature examination, the girls had a group discussion on “Who is the better parent in the play: Mrs Johnstone or Mrs Lyons?” This discussion helped the girls to gain more insight into the play and the characters. The class debated their points of view maturely, showing a clear understanding of complex ideas. They responded with flexibility to develop ideas and challenge assumptions. The class have thoroughly enjoyed studying Blood Brothers and can’t wait for more productive discussions!
