Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

We at Belfast Model School for Girls wish to publicly express our thanks and loyalty to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and to pay a heartfelt tribute as she celebrates her Platinum Jubilee. Celebrations have already begun this week in school with our Jubilee Bake Off competition and will continue with a ‘garden party’ event on Tuesday 31st May 2022.

Her Majesty is an extraordinary woman, who has dedicated her life to the service of her people and the family of nations of the Commonwealth. There can be no finer example of dignified public duty and service.

The Queen’s reign began when she was 25 years old, a young woman, following the death of her father, George VI, on 6 February 1952.

Seventy years on, the Queen has said that she remembers that day “as much for the death of my father, King George VI, as for the start of my reign”.

The 95-year-old said in a written message to the nation: “I would like to express my thanks to you all for your support. I remain eternally grateful for, and humbled by, the loyalty and affection that you continue to give me.”

The Jubilee is the monarch’s first without the Duke of Edinburgh, her husband of 73 years, who died last year.

Heavy is the Crown and yet she wears it as if it were a feather

There is strength in her heart, determination in her eyes and

The will to survive resides within her soul.

She is a warrior, a champion, a fighter, a Queen….

We salute you and we give thanks for your service and inspiring example.

We hope all our Model family enjoy the Jubilee celebrations.
