On a snowy Friday 10th March 2023, when everyone else got a snow day, the public speakers marched onwards to Stormont to represent our school, the only comprehensive, in the UK inter-regional final of the Business and Professional Women’s Public Speaking Competition.
Lucy Moran, Rowan Ross and Elisha Cassidy got to enjoy a full tour of parliament buildings and a buffet lunch before the competition got underway in the Senate Chamber.
Our girls were up against Cathedral School, Llandaff, Wales, Howell’s College, Wales, Redmaids’ High School, Bristol, Lurgan College and Wallace High School.
Our girls were the least experienced team there and had, on average, the youngest competitors, and came out as UK RUNNERS UP, on their first ever time entering this competition.
