Last month the Year 11 Contemporary Crafts class and Mrs Ward took part in a Ceramics workshop with award winning ceramicist Clare McComish, hosted in the Duncairn Arts Centre. Clare recently created a large installation in the Hospice and she spent the day showing the students a wide variety of ceramic techniques including hand building, coiling and adding surface decoration. The students really enjoyed the experience and produced their own ceramic vessels which are currently being fired before adding glazes.
