Students have their poems published

Recently we celebrated International Woman’s Day, and at the Girls’ Model we have had more success from the young women in our school. As part of the North Belfast Area Learning Community, pupils were asked to submit poems under the theme ‘Identity’. These poems would then go on to be published in an anthology sponsored by the John Hewitt Society.

Pictured here is Jessica Holmes-Beattie (Year 12) who submitted “Feminism” and Molly Scott (Year 12) who submitted “Spotlight”.  Charlotte Quinn (Year 12) submitted had her poem “Lemon Cake”, and Veronika Sevcikova (Year 10) submitted “Figure Skating”.

Congratulations to our worthy published poets – a great day for Women in Literature!
