On Monday 11th November a squad of 17 BMSG students travelled to Brook Leisure centre to play against St Colm’s High School. For over half of the team this was the first time they would represent BMSG, playing 11-a-side and with new players. They were a credit to themselves and the school and played with great skill, passion, and pride. Unfortunately, there were plenty of talented players left back at school and more games will be arranged in the near future, to give these students the opportunity to play.
BMSG played some fantastic football and took a well-deserved early lead from Maci. St Colm’s came back into the game and created chances to draw level but it was BMSG who put the pressure on and showed their skill with goals from Maya (two), Ella, and another from Maci finishing the half 5-0 up.
The 2nd half started with 6 new players all making their debuts. The game was end to end but it was St Colm’s who came out strongly and took their chances and the scoreline was soon 5-3. BMSG dug deep and got back in control of the game keeping possession well before creating more chances. With 10 minutes to go, Sienna scored our 6th goal. BMSG then played out the final minutes of the game comfortably and the game ended 6-3. Well done to all of our students and onto the next round we go!
