Year 13 Peer Mentors

On Wednesday 26th February, the Year 13 Peer Mentors planned and delivered sessions to each form class in Year 8. The main purpose of this event was for the Peer Mentors to introduce themselves and get to know the younger pupils (and vice versa) before the Peer Mentors take on their break and lunch time roles. The Peer Mentors did a great job of engaging and building positive relationships with the younger students.

The Peer Mentor programme is delivered by Streetbeat Youth Project. Each week 15 Peer Mentors complete their OCN in Peer Mentoring Skills and work on effective teamwork and communication. The Peer Mentors will be taking on their duties within the next few weeks, being the bridge of support for younger students, and teachers. Make sure you say ‘hello’ to the Peer Mentors if you see them about school!
