An exceptional closure is unplanned, and is due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather conditions, power failure, or situations, which affect the safety of pupils and staff.

The decision to close will preferably be made the night before closure if circumstances allow, particularly if all the indications are that adverse conditions will continue overnight.

If a decision is made to close the school, notices will be placed on our website and social media.  An email and a text message will be sent to parents and staff.  We will also endeavour to get notices on local radio. Please only follow communications about school closure from these official channels.

The decision in relation to the reopening of the school, or a continued closure in the days after we have initially closed will be made each afternoon and the website updated between 5-6 pm each day.
