On Wednesday 11th November at 11am, the BMSG fell silent to mark Remembrance Day 2020. A bell signified the start of the silence at which point students stopped what they were doing, stood and bowed their heads in silence for 1 minute to remember all who lost their lives during the world wars and subsequent conflicts.
On Monday 9th November the BMSG held our first-ever virtual Remembrance Day assembly that was shown to classes during their form period. This was to commemorate and honour the armed forces who sacrificed their lives for our freedom today. Mrs Dalzell also paid tribute to the emergency services and spoke about the history of the poppy before ending with a 40-second silence and a special prayer.
Last week we held a competition for Year 9 students to design a Remembrance Day poster, click here to view.
