Over the last few months, a group of Year 13/14 students have been participating in a Sports Leadership Programme. A team from Community Sports Network (CSN) who deliver the programme have came into school each Thursday afternoon from 2.30-4pm for the past 7 weeks to run the programme. Disability Sport and Cricket NI have also been in to deliver various sessions to the students to broaden their subject knowledge and also show them how to coach and deliver sessions to various target groups. The students then had to plan and deliver a coaching session to attain the award. These students have now successfully attained their Sports Leaders Level 1 qualification, 2 National Governing Body Awards and have also established excellent relations and inclusion in sport. These qualifications will allow the students to develop their CV and experience in coaching and delivering. The students have really enjoyed the experience and a massive thank you to the team at CSN for their time and delivery of the programme.
