The community of BMSG came together on Friday 5th May to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. With the whole school covered in red, white and blue we held a number of Model Coronation events. The day began with whole school assemblies where each member of our school community was invited to a special Coronation lunch and was presented with a commemorative Coronation badge.
Thankfully the good weather meant we could hold a traditional street party in our courtyard during lunchtime with special guests from the Dunowen Court resident’s home beside school. They weren’t the only VIPs in attendance as King Charles and Queen Camilla made an appearance too! On the menu was Coronation Chicken, quiche and sausage rolls along with Coronation Cupcakes!
Staff and students also took part in our Coronation Bake Off competition with lots of treats for staff to enjoy during breaktime! Winners will be announced next week!
Our Year 8 artists got involved in the celebrations by making crowns, flags and even drawings of the King himself!
We wish all members of our school community a very happy Coronation weekend. No matter where you are and how you are celebrating – have fun. God save the King!
