At the Belfast Model School for Girls we pride ourselves on offering a range of qualifications to suit the needs of all learners. Our academic and vocational programmes are specifically chosen to allow progression to Sixth Form or Further Education, and to prepare our learners for the world of work.
Principal’s Statement
GCSE
Our academic record speaks for itself and in the 2010-11 examination series we have, once again, improved on our excellent GCSE results from both 2008-9 and 2009-10. This year’s GCSE results are well above the average for non-selective schools in Northern Ireland.
In 2008-9, 66% of our pupils achieved 5 A*-C grades or better, while in 2009-10 the figure was 58% and this year has risen to 72%. Well done to all!
A-Levels
Again, at A-Level it is an improving picture which mirrors our GCSE performance. We have increased our numbers of pupils gaining 3 A*-C grades or better, from 41% in 2009-10 to 50% in 2010-11 and the number of pupils achieving 2 A*-E grades or better has risen from 94% in 2009-10 to 100% in 2010-11 which is a fantastic achievement!
I would like to thank everyone for their hard work in achieving these excellent results.
Mr J Graham
Principal
