On Wednesday 1st March a group of 13 students from Year 8-10 participated in a Ulster Rugby Development Tournament at the Valley Leisure Centre.  The girls played 3 matches during the tournament and won 2 out of the 3. Their first match was against St. Benedict’s which they won 2-1, their second match was against Ballyclare High School which they lost 4-2 but played amazing rugby, and their last match was against Victoria College, and they won 2-1 in a superb game.  During these matches all girls played fantastic.

A special mention goes to Holly Brookes, Carly Robinson, Katie Frazer and Nicole Johnston who scored 5 tries between them.  Nicole used her speed throughout the tournament being a huge threat for the other schools, running up and down the pitch.  In defence, Charley Knocker and Paris Caldwell were solid at the back tagging a lot of players.  A huge well done to all players taking part in today’s tournament, doing themselves and Girls’ Model proud!

See a video below from Ulster Rugby, our girls make an appearance around the 1.15 mark!
