As part of our Personal, Social and Health Education programme, a group of Year 10 students had the opportunity to visit Hammer Youth Centre on Agnes Street on Wednesday 10th May.  The students participated in workshops based on the theme of ‘Positive Relationships‘.  These included a range of practical activities to develop knowledge and skills as well as raise awareness in the following areas:

  • Positive relationships amongst peers
  • Maintaining positive friendships after conflict/breakdown of friendship
  • Internet safety/cyberbullying
  • Outcomes of negative behaviour
  • Appropriate responses to bullying behaviour

In the afternoon the students continued with follow up activities back in school, where students worked creatively with each other to communicate to the important message, ‘All equal, all different, all together‘.  It is hoped that this day will be most beneficial for sustaining inclusive environments both on and offline for our students.
