On Wednesday 14th June 2017 a group of students attended the Irish Football Association’s annual Super Schools Festival at Mullusk Playing Fields. Both a Year 8/9 team and Year 10/11 team were entered into the all girls football tournament, aimed at encouraging more girls to participate and get involved in the sport.
In the Year 8/9 league, some brilliant football was played by the girls, especially by Chelsea Evitt, Tia Bullin, Leah Wilgaus and Darcy Boyle (our goal scorer for the day). In the Year 10/11 league, Lauron Graham kept the girls in the tournament with excellent defending and vision of the game. Faith Johnston was the top goal scorer for the Year 10/11 team with 5 goals. A great day out for all the girls.
We would like to wish Faith Johnston all the best and speedy recovery with her injury and thank the IFA for a fantastic day!
