On Thursday 16th November our Year 10/11 and Year 12/13/14 football teams travelled to Lisburn Leisure Plex to compete in the IFA Futsal Finals.

Year 10 and 11 

Our Year 10/11 team won one, lost two and drew one, finishing 4th in their group.  Leah Wilgaus and Darcey Boyle being the goal scorers in this section. The girls played very well and played really well as a team, but came up against some tough competitors.

Year 12, 13 and 14

The Year 12/13/14 team had it a little bit easier in their group stage by winning 8-0, 4-0, 8-1 and 4-1 making it straight through to the finals. The final was played against Mercy College.  The final was intense from the first whistle with GMS going down 1-0, then bringing it back 1-1.  The match was set to go to penalties before Mercy College broke through with some great passing to make it 2-1 in the last few seconds of the game.

Girls’ Model School Year 12/13/14 came Runners Up of the NI Futsal Cup 2017.

Huge congratulations to both teams teams from Girls’ Model today.  You did yourselves and the school proud!
