On Friday 8th November we held an Electrical Engineering day in the Technology Department. A group of Year 10 students were joined by girls from Mercy College for a masterclass in Electrical Engineering. The session was led by a female professional Electrical Engineer in cooperation with WomensTec who are an organisation aimed at encouraging more girls into the male-dominated roles within the construction industry.
The students discussed careers in the electrical industry while also learning how to design an electrical installation for a new house. Following this, they had a practical session and learned how to wire a ring main circuit. A successful and enjoyable day and special thanks to WomensTec!
