Geography Field Trip – Colin Glen Forest Park

The AS and GCSE Year 11 classes came together on Tuesday 3rd March to work collaboratively to gather data for each of their Unit 3 Examinations in Summer 2020. Wading through the River Colin, river velocity, the width and depth of the channel and the bedload were all measured at 9 different sites selected within Colin Glen Forest Park.  The weather was extremely kind and the anticyclonic conditions blessed us with bright sunshine for the entire trip. Everyone participating enjoyed being up close with nature, though the wild garlic was a tad off-putting for some, and the day was both informative and fun.
