Year 8 and 9 students complete Maths activities

In their Maths lessons at the start of the year, Year 8 and Year 9 students completed “Figure me out” and “Beauty of Maths” activities in class. This gave Year 8 students the chance to tell us all about themselves using different sums and Year 9 students were able to design their own colour by numbers. The Maths Department were so impressed by the outcome of these and two winners were selected from each class. Some of these winners are shown in the photos below – well done girls!

Next week we look forward to celebrating Maths Week Ireland. Students at Key Stage 3 will take part in a range of different activities and challenges that will allow them to work on their problem solving skills and show them the uses of Maths outside the classroom.
