On Wednesday 25th January fifteen Post-16 students attended the North Belfast Area Learning Community’s Symposium on the theme of, ‘Mental Wealth’. This year’s symposium was hosted by Dr Robbie Meredith, BBC Arts & Education Correspondent at the recently opened University of Ulster campus on York Street Belfast. Siobhan O’Neill, Professor of Mental Health in UU and current Mental Health Champion for NI was one of the key speakers at the event.
Ten schools across the Area Learning Community were represented and our Post-16 students were articulate ambassadors for the Belfast Model School for Girls. Our students engaged enthusiastically with peers from other schools, demonstrating their ability and flair for collaborative interaction whilst sharing their attitudes, opinions, learning, support and advice.
