The hot topic of the moment is climate change.  In this cross-departmental project, girls are taken to Kilroot power station and then to a hydro-electric scheme in Londonderry to let them see the differences in how electricity is generated.  They then build a working model of a hydro-electric power station in Technology and work out how much power it can produce in Maths.  They are then asked to work out their own carbon footprint to show what effect their everyday activities have on the planet.  This is a topic that pupils continue to study in Year 10 Geography.
