As part of the Queen’s Academy Programme, four students from Year 11 were invited to a Study Skills session.  We were welcomed into the Great Hall and were very impressed by the grandeur of our surroundings.  Our visit proved to be a very beneficial, pupils were encouraged to approach revision with planning and organisation and received lots of stationary to get started.  The key message was that revision is essential to achieve in GCSEs, however it must be realistic, regular and thoroughly planned.  Many different approaches to revision were discussed, which students were encouraged to avail of, based upon their individual learning preferences.  The Year 11 pupils were excellent ambassadors of the school, approached all tasks with enthusiasm and interest and were delighted with all of the goodies to get their revision underway.

On Thursday 8th December, we attended a session based on study skills at Queen’s University Belfast.   We learned various techniques on how to stay organised when revising.  We had a fantastic time and I think this session was very beneficial and will help us with our GCSEs.
