We regret to inform you of the sad passing of our former respected Principal – Miss Vivian Kerr OBE.

Known as ‘Miss Kerr’ to all, an English graduate, she guided the school through the 1970s and 1980s and was awarded an OBE in 1981 for her services to the Belfast Model School for Girls. Miss Kerr’s unfailing dedication left a strong legacy and we at Girls’ Model both past and present pay tribute to her many worthwhile efforts and dedication.

She is remembered as a committed educationalist who gave of her all to the girls, staff and the school. Miss Kerr continued to attend school events after her retirement and took a strong interest in the life of the school.

The Staff, Board of Governors and students send their sincere condolences to her brother Colin and family circle at this sad time.
