Congratulations to Year 13 student Lucy Wallace who was recently awarded the prestigious National Young Volunteer Award for her work with Ballysillan Gymnastics Club.  Lucy won her award at the British Gymnastics National Awards held on 25th January 2020 at The International Centre, Telford, the evening recognises and celebrates the achievements of the most inspirational people within the gymnastics community.

The event’s programme describes the award as ‘recognising a young person between the ages of 11 and 18 who has volunteered their time and enthusiasm to help others enjoy gymnastics’.  Further stating ‘at 17 years old, Lucy has volunteered an incredible amount of time at Ballysillan Gymnastics Club.  She volunteers as a young leader, helping to coach young gymnasts at the club every Saturday where she is always the first in the gym and is often the last out.  She has already received several recognitions for her efforts, including winning Northern Ireland’s Young Volunteer Award in 2019′.
