Wow, wow and wow!
We were absolutely blown away with the entries to our Bake Off to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.
Our overall winner was Tegan Iven (as voted for by staff) for her AMAZING paw-some corgi cake.  Tegan again displayed her excellent piping skills, and her cake was a delicious sponge with lemon curd – delicious.  The purple and black crown was also made from cake.
Jamine Parker: Stunning two-tier cake fir for the Queen.  The bottom tier was a classic Victorian Sponge in red, white, and blue colours.  On the outside there were stunning photographs of the lady of the celebrations, lovely Elizabeth, and the top tier was delicious red velvet made in the shape of a fantastic crown of purple and gold, there was even fur at the bottom!  Jasmine’s mini-Queen was excellent – such an incredibly talented young lady.
Jessica Irvine: An excellent two-tier cake, again fit for a Queen.  The crown was a traditional Victoria Sponge with a Raspberry jam and homemade Vanilla buttercream.  The bottom tier was Jessica’s take on the winner of the BBC’s Jubilee pudding, zesty lemon cake with lemon curd and homemade vanilla buttercream.  The bottom tier was also decorated with red and blue bunting.  An excellent display of skills and creativity.
Madison Beattie: Madison’s Royal Victoria Sponge was definitely fit for royalty, with red, white and blue frosting and sprinkles set on a royal blue cake board.  Madison also made a wee Jubilee sign to go with her cake.  Excellent Madison.
Louisa Clugston: Louisa’s royal cupcakes featured a corgi, a crown, bunting, edible Jubilee sugar paper, and each cupcake was piped using different piping nozzles.  Classic Victoria Sponge and delicious red and blue buttercream.  Well done Madison.
Everyone is a winner though as they are being treated to a wee afternoon at the amazing Merchant Hotel for Afternoon Tea to sample some superb cakes, yummy!  A treat worthy for the Queen.
Well done girls, you never cease to amaze us with effort, enthusiasm, and raw talent.
Miss Jemphrey
